Under the Legal Profession (Law Society Of Brunei Darussalam) Order, two types of complaints can be made against a lawyer:
- a complaint of the conduct of an advocate and solicitor under section 49; or
- a complaint for inadequate professional services under section 42.

The Law Society will refer any complaint under section 49 of the conduct of an advocate and solicitor to the chairman of the Inquiry Panel. The chairman of the Inquiry Panel or any Inquiry Committee may require your complaint under section 49 to be supported by a statutory declaration or an affidavit.
